Manado, 14 August 2025 — The English Education Study Program at IAIN Manado welcomed an academic visit from English lecturers of Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat) Manado to discuss the implementation of a collaborative workshop on research methods in English literature. The initiative is part of the program’s effort to strengthen the university’s Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) and Indikator Kinerja Tambahan (IKT) through academic collaboration and faculty development.
During the meeting, the visiting lecturer shared ideas on designing a hands-on workshop that would enhance the research capacity of students and lecturers in the field of English literature. The proposed workshop will cover essential topics such as literary theory applications, qualitative research design, data analysis in literary studies, and strategies for publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals.
“This collaboration will not only expand our academic network but also give our students and lecturers practical skills to conduct high-quality research in English literature,” said the secretary of the English Education Study Program.
The workshop is expected to be jointly organized by both institutions, involving experienced lecturers from Sam Ratulangi University and IAIN Manado. It will also include interactive sessions, case studies, and mentoring opportunities to ensure participants can apply research methodologies effectively in their own projects.
By integrating this initiative into the university’s performance indicators, the program aims to contribute to graduate quality, increase faculty research output, and strengthen cross-institutional cooperation. Follow-up meetings will be scheduled to finalize the workshop structure, prepare training materials, and set an implementation timeline.
This visit marks an important step in building a sustainable academic partnership between IAIN Manado and Sam Ratulangi University, fostering innovation and excellence in literary research within the region
