The English Education Department of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK), IAIN Manado, successfully held the first session of its Guest Lecture Series on October 20, 2025. The academic event took place at the FTIK Hall and was officially opened by the Dean of FTIK, accompanied by the Vice Dean I for Academic Affairs, as well as the Head and Secretary of the English Education Department. Several lecturers from the English Education Department (PBI) also attended the event, showing strong support for the program.

The guest lecture featured Prof. Dr. Hidayati Otoluwa, M.Hum from Gorontalo State University (UNG) as the keynote speaker. Prof. Hidayati delivered an engaging and inspiring presentation focusing on current trends and challenges in English language education. She highlighted the importance of inter-university collaboration to enhance academic quality, strengthen research culture, and provide students with broader learning experiences.

In addition to the lecture, the event also served as an important milestone for the establishment of academic cooperation between IAIN Manado and Gorontalo State University. Both institutions agreed to explore collaborative programs in areas such as joint research, curriculum innovation, academic publications, and exchange programs for lecturers and students. This initiative aims to foster mutual growth and build a stronger academic community within Eastern Indonesia.

The Dean of FTIK, in his opening remarks, expressed his appreciation for the presence of Prof. Hidayati and emphasized that such activities are vital for improving the academic environment and creating opportunities for students to learn from experts beyond their own campus. He also encouraged the English Education Department to continue organizing similar programs that promote collaboration and innovation in English language teaching.

Students and lecturers responded enthusiastically to the session, engaging actively in the discussion and expressing their gratitude for the insightful knowledge shared during the event. The English Education Study Program plans to continue this Guest Lecture Series as a sustainable academic agenda to support quality education and strengthen partnerships with other higher education institutions across Indonesia.
