Manado, January 22, 2025 – The English Language Education Program (TBI) of IAIN Manado has officially entered into a partnership with the Indonesian English Lecturers Association (IELA) on January 22, 2025. This collaboration aims to strengthen the three pillars of higher education—education, community service, and research—as outlined in the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Three Pillars of Higher Education) doctrine.
The event was attended by the newly elected President of IELA, Dr. Delly Sabudu, S.Pd., M.A., who visited IAIN Manado’s campus in this official capacity. Dr. Delly was warmly welcomed by the Head of the English Language Education Program (Kaprodi), the Program Secretary (Sekprodi), the Vice Dean for Cooperation Affairs, and the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Dr. Arhanuddin Salim, M.Pd.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to focus their cooperation on advancing quality education, promoting community service projects, and conducting collaborative research in the field of English language education. The partnership is expected to create opportunities for faculty and students to engage in training, joint research projects, and community outreach initiatives that align with the pressing needs of English language education across Indonesia.
“This partnership is an important step in enhancing the quality of English language education at IAIN Manado,” stated Dr. Arhanuddin, Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training. “We hope that this collaboration will provide our faculty and students with more opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills, particularly through training programs and research initiatives supported by IELA.”
Dr. Delly Sabudu, President of IELA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “As an organization that represents English lecturers across Indonesia, we are proud to partner with IAIN Manado. We believe this collaboration will significantly contribute to the advancement of English language education in Indonesia, particularly in terms of faculty development and student engagement.”
This partnership also marks a significant moment for IAIN Manado’s English Language Education Study Program to expand its academic network and foster closer ties with other educational institutions, both nationally and internationally. It is hoped that this cooperation will have a positive impact on the academic development of faculty members and the educational experience of students, ensuring they are well-prepared to make meaningful contributions to the field of English language education.
