Manado – The English Education (Tadris Bahasa Inggris) Study Program at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK), IAIN Manado, has successfully conducted its Micro Teaching program, an essential part of teacher training aimed at preparing students for real classroom practice.

This semester’s Micro Teaching sessions were expertly guided by Dr. Srifani Simbuka, who served as the course coordinator and lead instructor. The program was enthusiastically supported by the Head of the English Education Study Program, Nur Halimah, M.Hum, who emphasized the importance of Micro Teaching as a bridge between theory and real teaching experience.

Micro Teaching allows students to demonstrate and develop their teaching competencies in a simulated classroom setting. The structured sessions focused on lesson planning, instructional strategies, classroom management, and self-reflection, all within a supportive academic environment.

“Micro Teaching is not merely a requirement — it is a transformative process. It shapes how future teachers think, speak, and act in front of learners,” said Dr. Srifani Simbuka.

“We truly appreciate Dr. Srifani’s dedication and guidance throughout this program,” added Nur Halimah, M.Hum, Head of the Study Program. “This activity is one of the core stages in producing qualified, professional English teachers.”

Students also expressed their appreciation for the learning process, highlighting how the feedback and mentorship provided during the sessions boosted their confidence and helped refine their teaching skills.

This successful implementation of the Micro Teaching program reflects the strong academic collaboration within the English Education Study Program and its commitment to producing competent, ethical, and reflective educators ready to contribute to the field of English language teaching.
