Bitung – The Head of the English Education (Tadris Bahasa Inggris) Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK) at IAIN Manado, organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) aimed at developing and refining the Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies (VMTS) of the study program. The event was held in Bitung and brought together key stakeholders, including alumni, professional associations, and graduate users.
The activity was part of the program’s commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement in accordance with national higher education standards. By involving alumni and stakeholders from the professional field, the FGD aimed to align the study program’s direction with the current needs of the job market and the broader educational landscape.

During the discussion, participants were encouraged to provide critical input and constructive feedback on the existing VMTS draft. The session also explored how the study program could enhance its relevance, responsiveness, and contribution to English language education both locally and nationally.
Head of the Study Program, Nur Halimah, M.Hum, emphasized the importance of collaborative input in shaping the identity and strategic future of the English Education program.
“We believe that a strong and meaningful VMTS must reflect the voices of all stakeholders — our alumni, our partners in the field, and the users of our graduates. This ensures that we are not only academically strong but also contextually relevant,” she stated.
The FGD concluded with a series of recommendations and revisions that will be further discussed and finalized by the internal academic team. The updated VMTS document is expected to guide future curriculum development, research priorities, and community engagement strategies of the program.
