Manado, 20th November 2024 – Several English lecturers from IAIN Manado participated in a Technical Guidance event focused on teaching Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) at the university’s campus. The event, aimed at enhancing teaching methods and approaches, was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Edi Gunawan, and was guided by the Head of the Language Center (UPT Bahasa), Dr. Husni Mubarak, alongside a representative from the faculty involved in the Indonesian language teaching program for foreign speakers.
The event brought together English and Arabic language lecturers, Arabic and English students, as well as alumni, creating a diverse and collaborative learning environment. The sessions focused on improving the pedagogical techniques for teaching Indonesian to non-native speakers, discussing various teaching strategies, cultural aspects, and addressing the challenges faced by learners of the Indonesian language.
Through this initiative, IAIN Manado is reinforcing its dedication to advancing language education and fostering international academic collaboration. The event also aligns with the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of its language programs, particularly in promoting Indonesian as a foreign language.
