Manado, Sulut – On June 4-5, 2024, students from the English Education Study Program of IAIN Manado participated in the Sulawesi Utara Language Ambassador selection, achieving remarkable success by placing in the top five.

The event brought together participants from various universities, featuring challenges such as interviews, public speaking, and cultural showcases. This initiative aims to promote both the English language and Bahasa Indonesia, highlighting their significance in cultural identity.

One standout participant, Anna, expressed pride in representing her institute: “Being among the top five is a significant honor. This experience has deepened my appreciation for our languages and cultures.”

The event received strong support from the Provincial Education and Culture and Language Office, which emphasized the importance of engaging youth in cultural preservation efforts. The office’s head remarked, “We commend the enthusiasm and talent of these students and look forward to their contributions as future ambassadors.”

With this achievement, Anna and her peers are motivated to continue advocating for language and cultural awareness in Sulawesi Utara/ North Sulawesi. FS
