Manado, November 13, 2024<\/em> \u2013 On November 13, 2024, the Balai Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (BPMP)<\/strong> Manado hosted a highly anticipated workshop as part of the Workshop Sulawesi<\/em> series. The workshop, titled “Strategi Sukses Kampus Menyusun dan Mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Outcome-Based Education”<\/em>, focused on equipping educators and academic leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to develop and implement Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula successfully.<\/p>

The event featured three distinguished speakers: Dr. Dandi Darmadi<\/strong>, Munawir Razak, M.A.<\/strong>, and Wahyudi Agustiono, Ph.D.<\/strong>, who are all experts in the field of education and curriculum development. Together, they provided valuable insights on how universities can design curricula that focus on measurable student outcomes, ensuring that educational programs meet both academic standards and the needs of the job market.<\/p>

Dr. Dandi Darmadi, a well-respected figure in higher education, began the session by explaining the core principles of Outcome-Based Education, emphasizing the importance of aligning teaching methods, assessments, and learning goals with the desired outcomes for students. He stressed that OBE shifts the focus from traditional teaching methods to student-centered learning, which is more flexible and better suited to preparing graduates for real-world challenges.<\/p>

Munawir Razak, M.A., continued the discussion by sharing practical strategies for universities to implement OBE in their curricula. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between faculty, administrators, and stakeholders in defining clear learning outcomes and ensuring that all elements of the curriculum align with these objectives. “OBE requires a holistic approach, where every aspect of the curriculum\u2014from course design to assessment\u2014is focused on achieving specific student outcomes,” Razak explained.<\/p>

The third speaker, Wahyudi Agustiono, Ph.D.<\/strong>, provided a deeper dive into the assessment strategies necessary for OBE, stressing the need for continuous evaluation and feedback. He demonstrated how to develop assessment tools that accurately measure student competencies, ensuring that learning objectives are met effectively.<\/p>

Throughout the workshop, participants actively engaged in discussions and group activities that encouraged them to reflect on their own institutions\u2019 curricula and consider how they could implement OBE principles in their own academic environments. The interactive sessions allowed attendees to collaborate and share best practices, fostering a spirit of mutual learning and growth.<\/p>

The workshop was attended by educators (IAIN Manado lecturers especially TBI lecturers), academic staff, and higher education leaders from across Sulawesi, all of whom left with a greater understanding of how Outcome-Based Education can improve curriculum design and enhance student learning outcomes.<\/p>

BPMP Manado continues to play a vital role in enhancing the quality of education in the region by organizing workshops like this one, which support the development of high-quality, student-centered curricula that align with global standards.<\/p>

The event concluded with a Q&A session, where participants had the opportunity to seek advice from the speakers on specific challenges they face in implementing OBE.
