
Manado, December 16, 2024 — The English Education Study Program, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK), IAIN Manado has officially issued a circular letter addressing all lecturers who serve as thesis examiners. The circular, released on December 15, 2024, outlines the obligation to complete standardized assessment indicators for Proposal Defense, Research Seminar, and Final Thesis Examination.
Through this circular, the department emphasized the importance of consistency, transparency, and fairness in the evaluation of students’ final academic work. Lecturers are required to assess and document key aspects of each examination, including the student’s presentation performance, the accuracy and clarity of research findings, mastery of the subject, and ethical academic behavior.
The Head of the English Education Study Program stated that the issuance of the circular is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen academic quality assurance within the study program.
“This circular serves as a formal reminder for all examiners to carry out their roles with responsibility and adherence to the department’s evaluation standards. By doing so, we ensure fair assessment and uphold the integrity of the thesis examination process,” said the Head of Study Program
All components listed in the assessment indicators are considered critical for maintaining academic excellence and ensuring that students are evaluated not only based on content but also on their academic conduct and professionalism.
