IAIN Manado — The highly anticipated Gen Z English Competition officially kicked off today, promising to be a groundbreaking event for young English enthusiasts across the North Sulawesi Province. Hosted by English Education Study Program, the competition aims to foster a passion for language and provide a platform for students to showcase their English skills in an engaging and dynamic environment.
The opening ceremony, held via Zoom Application and Live Streaming on YouTube and attended by students, educators, and language experts, was marked by enthusiasm and anticipation. Keynote speakers, including Dean, highlighted the importance of English proficiency in today’s globalized world and encouraged participants to embrace the opportunity to enhance their linguistic abilities.
The Gen Z English Competition is designed for students aged 17-19 and features a series of challenging rounds, including speech, debate, singing and story telling tasks. Participants will have the chance to compete individually or in teams, with awards and certificates awaiting the top performers.
“This competition is more than just a contest,” said Fadhlan Saini, the event coordinator. “It’s a celebration of language and creativity. We’re excited to see how these bright young minds will tackle the challenges and express their unique voices through English.”
Today is the opening ceremony as well as debate competition round 1. Students from all educational backgrounds are encouraged to participate and test their skills against their peers.
